Custom Widgets

Custom widget is a very useful WordPress plugin created by Tom Slayer, also published on the official WordPress Plugin Repository.

This plugin enables you to select which widgets appear on specific posts, pages, categories, author’s posts and tag pages. It is very easy to install and manage: if you want a widget to appear only in a certain category, for example, you just have to go to the TS Custom Widgets section and select the widget you want to customize, then to assign it to the desired category of your blog.

I think that this plugin is a very useful tool to make a lot of improvements to sites and blogs; it allows, for instance, to publish advertising banners only on related pages; to insert a rss feed extract only on related posts, or (on a multi-author blog) to show the last posts for each author’s personal blog on the sidebar of each author’s articles.
